The goal of the Full Time Junior Golf Academy is to establish a champion’s mind-set and prepare junior golfers for the rigors and stress of the collegiate golf experience.
Monday through Friday, junior golfers participate in a demanding schedule of school, golf, fitness, nutrition and study. Competition is an integral part of player development.
To maximize player improvement, coaches travel to one-two nationally ranked events per month. The schedule allows for flexibility for players on Saturdays and Sundays so a student can work on a part of their game, enter another tournament, attend to their studies or enjoy the numerous activities available in the Jacksonville and St. Augustine areas. Time management and decision-making are critical skills both on and off the course.
Upon arrival at the Tom Burnett Golf Academy all students receive a full evaluation of their golf game – full swing, short game, putting and special condition shots; physical fitness assessment and a benchmark score in their mental acuity. This includes video analysis, 3-D animated and graphical analysis of the student’s golf swing, a full body physical evaluation performed by a certified personal trainer and an on-course evaluation by our sports psychologist.
Once all the data is gathered, a plan and measurable goals are set together by the student and a certified Tom Burnett Academy instructor to maximize the players golf performance in all areas of his or her game. The players improvement will be measured using video analysis, 3-D imaging, launch monitor ballistic information and the Science and Motion Putting Software (SAM). Our collection of technology is a great tool to assist player develop, however the real measure of improvement is performance on the golf course.
Performance goals are achieved when all the core components: Technical, physical, mental and optimum equipment are working in concert. As the improvements begin to take place, development of a periodization schedule allows a player to train and play his or her best golf on command. TBGA prides and separates itself from the competition through developing premier golfers.
